BHFTF Welcome Social

Help us kick off the 2014 Black Hills Fat Tire Festival during the VIP Welcome Social. The VIP Welcome Social is a party to get to know other BHFTF participants and to thank our sponsors and vendors for their participation in helping to make this event possible. The Welcome Social is included with the All-Festival Pass purchase. You can get individual VIP Welcome Social Tickets by purchasing an All-Festival Pass or by being one of our Sponsors. Individual tickets may be purchased for $20.00 at the registration booth on Friday June 20th between the hours of 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. if available. The welcome social will be an all age gathering. Food included with ticket. IDs will be required if drinking alcohol at the socials.

Time: 6:00 p.m. Day: Friday, June 20 Where: Canyon Lake Chophouse, 2720 Chapel Lane, Rapid City Tickets will be available at Founders Park Friday from 1-4 or at the door if available.

Saturday Evening BBQ and Live Music from Groovedaddy

After Saturday’s rides and races, join us for an evening of live music and authentic western barbeque. This event is included with the purchase of an All-Festival Pass and is also open to the public, so come on down for some good ol’ fashioned BBQ and enjoy the funky sounds and classic jams performed by Groovedaddy. If you don’t hold an All Festival Pass, you can still enjoy the music for free as well as purchase tickets for the barbeque in advance for $20.00. Food included with ticket. IDs will be required if drinking alcohol at the socials.

Time: 6:00 p.m. Day: Saturday, June 21st Where: Central States Fairgrounds, 800 San Francisco Street, Rapid City Extra tickets will be available at the Festival Headquarters in Founders Park through out the weekend or at the gate if available.


What is the Beer-Muda Triangle? Very simply, if you purchase food, drink, gear, etc. from any of our sponsors while in Rapid City for the Black Hill Fat Tire Festival, you can turn in your receipts to the Festival Headquarters, and you will receive tickets that are eligible for raffle prizes. Make sure you keep those tickets separate from all other drawings and attend the Barbeque on Saturday evening where the drawings will be held. You know you’re going to eat, drink and purchase bike equipment while you’re in town. Why not eat, drink and buy with our sponsors? Raffle prizes for the Beer-Muda Triangle to be given away Saturday, June 21st at the barbeque & Sunday, June 22nd at the Festival Headquarters during the race awards. You must be present to win!

This is how it works: During your stay, visit any of our sponsors, including Independent Ale House, Howard Johnson, Acme Bikes, Two Wheeler Dealer, and Scheels. Get a receipt for all purchases made there and turn it into our staff at the BBQ or at the Festival Headquarters through out the weekend. We will give you one ticket per $10.00 you spend at any of our sponsors. Spend $10.00 get one ticket. Spend $20.00 get two tickets. Spend more, get more, but they must be receipts from our sponsors.

Strider Championship Series

This groundbreaking program gives small children a chance to put their Strider Balance Bike skills to the test at several stops across the US and worldwide. The unique Strider Championship Series caters directly to children 2-5 years old who want to experience the thrill of racing. Children of all sizes and skill levels are welcome to participate. STRIDER No-Pedal Balance Bikes are developed for both learning the ropes of riding and honing advanced skills in racing. STRIDER Adventure Zones are safe and friendly environments that encourage kids of all abilities from 18 months to 5 year old to test ride a STRIDER and play with other kids, while improving and developing fundamental bike handling skills. Cost to participation in the series is $25 if registered by noon on June 19th $35 on race-day.
